The Brazilian to race in Italy and Germany
Maranello, 10 March 2019 – Twelve months ago, Gianluca Petecof had his first tests in a single-seater after a brilliant career in karts. 2018 saw him make continuous progress in the Italian Formula 4 series, culminating in his first outright win in the final round of the season at the Mugello circuit.
Ambitious. It was the best way to end the season as well as an incentive to aim for ambitious goals in 2019. The 16 year old from Sao Paulo will continue to drive for the Prema team, taking part in both the Italian and German Formula 4 series, with the aim of making the most of the experience gained last year. It’s a busy programme that will complete Petecof’s training in this category under the guidance of the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA.)
For the title. “After a great 2018 season in which I found the best environment in which to progress, it was natural to decide to continue racing in Formula 4 and to stay with the Prema team,” commented Gianluca. “It was just what I wanted. Now I’m keen to get back on track and I don’t deny I’ve set myself a tough goal. I want to fight for the title and I will give it my best shot.”
