  • Raced in the Cannonball Baker Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash also known as Cannonball  Run on November the 15th 1971: Team: Kirk F. White Motor Racing, Racing drivers: Dan Gurney/Brock Yates, 1st place
    Dan Gurney and Brock Yates drove the 2863 mile long distance between New York (start at Red Ball Garage) and Portofino (CA) in 35 hours and 54 minutes. Included were 9 stops for refuelling and 10 stops caused by police. Pure driving time: 34 hours 49 minutes. Top speed driven by Dan Gurney 175 mph. Average speed approx. 80 mph
