In the lead up to the Spanish Grand Prix, Ferrari reveals detailed plans for its theme park
Thursday, May 12 2016 (Montmelò, Spain) – One year after the first stone was laid, Ferrari unveiled a scale model of the Ferrari Land theme park, illustrating all attractions. The highly anticipated opening of the theme park at PortAventura World is scheduled for 2017. PortaAventura estimates that thanks to the draw of the Ferrari brand, its visitors will reach 5 million a year (up from the current 4 million people who visits the PortAventura World annually).
Maurizio Arrivabene, Managing Director, Ferrari Gestione Sportiva and Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal, attended the presentation at the Montmelò circuit as he also laid the first stone at the park last year.
Marc Gené, Scuderia Ferrari development driver, showed an exclusive video of the construction site he visited last week during the placement of the first Ferrari racing shield. The gigantic shield was positioned at the front of what will surely become one of the most iconic attractions of the park: the vertical accelerator, which will be Europe’s tallest roller coaster.
