Ferrari Challenge North America – Doubles for Anassis, Zoi and Saada at Mont-Tremblant

Mont-Tremblant, 13 September – Heavy rain showers and murky skies hung over Circuit Mont-Tremblant for the second portion of the North American Ferrari Challenge race weekend. Although the drivers were able to run this morning for the warm-up session, qualifications were cancelled due to the inclement weather and the starting grid was set based on yesterday’s championship points after Race 1.

Trofeo Pirelli. At the close of one of the last races of the season, Emmanuel Anassis (Ferrari Quebec) continues to lead in the drivers’ championship. After his win in today’s, he stands at 226 points, 90 points ahead of the second place contender, John Farano (Ferrari of Ft. Lauderdale). Wei Lu (Ferrari of Vancouver) came in third place in today’s race.

Pirelli Am. Mike Zoi (Ferrari Ft. Lauderdale) also made his second consecutive victory this weekend in Mont-Tremblant. Recording the fastest lap in his class, Zoi found himself sequestered between the Trofeo Pirelli drivers. Finishing behind him were Anthony Imperato (Ferrari of Long Island) in second place and Steve Johnson (Ferrari of Ft. Lauderdale) in third.

Coppa Shell. Jean-Claude Saada (Boardwalk Ferrari) returned to the top of the podium steps, claiming his victory for the second time this weekend. Holding off his winning streak, Saada battled against his repeat rivals Joe Courtney (Miller Motor Cars) and Dan O’Neal (Ferrari of Ft. Lauderdale). Courtney and O’Neal finished second and third respectively.
The penultimate round of the championship, the last on American soil of the 2015 season, will be in conjunction with Ferrari Racing Days, held at NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans, on October 2-4.

Mont-Tremblant, 12 September – Amidst the rain showers and slick track conditions, 24 drivers competed in the first round of racing this weekend at Circuit Mont-Tremblant in Quebec, Canada. And if the circuit design is not exciting enough, the racing conditions made for an excellent showcase to the Tifosi in attendance.

Trofeo Pirelli. With a victory at nearly every race this season, Emmanuel Anassis (Ferrari Quebec) continued his winning streak. Beginning today’s race in pole position, Anassis was unstoppable. His fellow Canadian competitor, Wei Lu (Ferrari of Vancouver) made a great effort to stay on his tail, but Anassis was relentless. John Farano (Ferrari of Ft. Lauderdale) and Ryan Ockey (Ferrari of Ontario) finished second and third on the podium.

Pirelli Am. Mike Zoi (Ferrari of Ft. Lauderdale) was unstoppable in today’s race. From start to finish, he battled is way among the Trofeo Pirelli drivers, completing the fastest race lap of his class at 1:49:772. And local Quebecois, Patrice Brisebois (Ferrari Quebec) had the biggest improvement of all drivers. Beginning the race seventh in his class, he finished on the podium steps in second place, just ahead of Marc Muzzo (Ferrari of Ontario) who came in third.

Coppa Shell. The ultimate victory in the Coppa Shell class belonged to Jean-Claude Saada (Boardwalk Ferrari) who was eager to continue his victorious endeavors in this season’s Ferrari Challenge. Rodney Randall (Miller Motor Cars) battled his way to second place and Dave Terry (Ferrari of Ontario) finished in third place, his first podium of the season.  The racing continues tomorrow with a warm-up session in the morning, qualifications and Race 2 at 2:30 PM EST (8:30 PM CET).

 

Ferrari Challenge NA – The series returns to the mountains of Mont Tremblant

Mont Tremblant, 11 September – The sixth round of the North American Ferrari Challenge returns to Circuit-Mont Tremblant in the heart of Quebec’s most lustrous ski mountains. The racetrack is regarded as one of the finest racing circuits in North America and has seen some of the greatest names in racing drive their way around the demanding 4.26-kilometer layout. Famous Ferrari names, including Villenveuve, Andretti, and Ickx, have all race here on what Michael Schumacher described as the “Little Nurburgring”. It’s make this the perfect location for the penultimate round of the North American Ferrari Challenge on continental soil before the Finali Mondiali that will be at Mugello at the first days of November.

Trofeo Pirelli. Local Quebecois, Emmanuel Anassis of Ferrari Quebec, still holds the lead for the Trofeo Pirelli class. With 183 points, Anassis has remained the frontrunner his class all season long. And standing behind him with 113 points is his biggest competitor from The Collection, Gregory Romenlli. John Farano from Ferrari of Ft. Lauderale closes the triple point contention, standing in third place with 103 points.

Pirelli Am. The competition remains just as fierce for the drivers of the Trofeo Pirelli Am category. With several wins under his belt, including his latest podium finish in Mosport, Mike Zoi leads with 137 points. But Anthony Imperato from Ferrari of Long Island and Marc Muzzo from Ferrari of Ontario continue to chase for the championship win. Having raced in Mont Tremblant before, the drivers are ready to showcase their talent and fervor for the ultimate victory.

Coppa Shell. Chris Cagnazzi from Ferrari of Long Island and Joe Courtney from Miller Motor Cars continue the tight pursuit in the Coppa Shell class. Only a three-point difference defines their current driver’s championship standing. Jean-Claude Saada from Boardwalk Ferrari and Dan O’Neal from Ferrari of Ft. Lauderdale also hold one of the closest battles in their class. Saada leads his rival by just two points.

Schedule. Practice sessions will commence this morning and again in the afternoon, with Race 1 at 2:15 PM EST (8:15 PM CET) on Saturday and Race 2 on Sunday is scheduled for 2:30 PM EST (8:30 PM CET).
