Four young karters tackle the Santander Driving Experience

Maranello, 22 October – The sixth edition of the Santander Driving Experience came to an end yesterday at the Fiorano circuit. The event, supported by the Spanish banking group, gave some promising youngsters from the world of karting the chance to tackle a three day Ferrari Driver Academy course.

This year’s participants were Marta García and Javier Cobián from Spain, the Brazilian Murilo Della Coletta and Englishman Jack McCarthy, all aged between fifteen and seventeen. Following a tried and tested format, they first underwent a medical and physical examination, before running a session on the simulator and trying some mental training sessions. Next they got behind the wheel of a Formula 4 car, under the supervision of Academy director Luca Baldisserri.

The aim of this short course, organised by the Santander sponsor along with the Maranello company, was to provide important pointers for the future of these young drivers: improving their driving style, learning how to evaluate track conditions and how to establish a constructive relationship with their engineers to get the best performance possible.
