Maranello, 23 July – Maranello, 23 July 2013 – Veca and Mahle are the companies awarded at the 2013 edition of the Podio, the traditional event Ferrari organises for suppliers and strategic partners of the company with the Prancing Horse. With the Podio the company wants to award excellences of excellence: all suppliers collaborating with the Prancing Horse are already the best in their respective sectors. On the occasion of the Podio a special contribution over the last 12 months is recognised by the Prancing Horse especially in the areas of technology, competitiveness and innovation. There are two awards, just like there are two souls in Ferrari: motorsport and high-performance road cars.

In 2013 Veca and Mahle received the precious awards. Veca is a world-wide leader in the area of mechanical production and has been awarded for the level reached in mechanical engineering regarding the applications used in Formula 1, which helped to apply exclusive solutions on an extremely high quality level, enabling at the same time a continuous acceleration regarding time-to-market.

Mahle received the award thanks to their constant support for Ferrari regarding the area of engines, fundamentally contributing to the possibility to reach the targets set in terms of performance and quality.

“Our suppliers and partners are crucial for the results Ferrari conquers on the tracks and on the roads all over the world,” Chairman Luca di Montezemolo said. “We ask you all to constantly innovate and guarantee extreme quality. Ferrari creates only extraordinary products and has to count on partners, who know how to look ahead, how to be creative and original.”

At the award ceremony Montezemolo was joined by CEO Amedeo Felisa, Scuderia Team Principal Stefano Domenicali and the official drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, who especially came to Maranello before leaving for Budapest, where the Hungarian GP will be held this weekend. As usual Felipe and Fernando added an extra thrill to the awards received by Veca and Mahle. At the end of the ceremony the president of the Italian company, Alessandro Verasani, and Fred Türk, general manager motorsport, from the German company had the opoprtunity to enjoy the performance of a Ferrari F12berlinetta on the track of Fiorano with the two exceptional drivers from the Scuderia behind the wheel.
