Both the auction and concours are firmly established as the foremost events in their respective fields within the UK’s classic car calendar, and the continued association between the two events provides enthusiasts and collectors with the ultimate combination of London-based activities this summer. This year marks the third annual Concours of Elegance, which will continue its Royal Palace associations in the stunning Grand Fountain Gardens grounds of Hampton Court Palace. The event again promises to showcase 60 automobiles of the highest possible quality and rarity, hand-picked to appear in the spectacular surroundings of the palace alongside 700 additional motor cars invited from amongst the UK’s leading car clubs.
RM Auctions’ highly anticipated London sale has been a fixture on the international auction calendar since 2007, and boasts a reputation as one of the country’s premier, highest-quality, and highest-grossing annual collector car auctions. In excess of £21 million of collector grade automobiles were sold in 2013, highlighted by the glorious Laidlaw Competition Car Collection and the iconic James Bond ‘Submarine’ Lotus car. Established in 2012, the inaugural Concours of Elegance was held within the private grounds of Windsor Castle to mark the diamond jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen’s reign.
