Sepang, 9 November – It was not a great race for the 458 Italias of the two Ferrari client teams taking part in the 2 hours of Sepang, the second of the four rounds of the Asian Le Mans Series championship, due to resume in January.
Spirit of Race. The Spirit of Race team car of Nasrat Muzzayyin and Rui Aguas was among the podium places, but the Singaporean and Portuguese dropped back into fourth as the race reached its finale.
Improving. The Ferrari of Nexus Infinity might not have won a podium place but it did improve on its first outing of the season, with Joshua Hunt and Dominic Ang finishing in fifth.
Sepang, 7 November – The Asian Le Mans Series is back on track this weekend with the second of the season’s four races due to take place on the wonderful track at Sepang, Malaysia. Two Ferraris will be in the fray just as in the first round at Fuji.
On the hunt for another podium. The first of the two Ferraris belongs to the Spirit of Race team and will be crewed by Singapore’s Nasrat Muzayyin, and Portugal’s Rui Aguas. The two were second in the first race of the season and are also keen on a podium finish this time. Rui Aguas is in great shape fresh from victory last week in the GTE-Am of the World Endurance Championship at the 6 Hours of Shanghai. Aguas shared the wheel of the Ferrari 458 Italia no. 83 AF Corse with François Perrodo and Emmanuel Collard.
Hosts. The other Prancing Horse car will be the no. 27 of Nexus Infinity. The Malaysian team are keen to improve on their sixth place at Fuji. This time they are racing at home and Australia’s Joshua Hunt and Malaysia’s Dominic Ang and Adrian D’Silva must target a place on the podium.
Programme. The free practices take place on Friday from 12 pm to 1 pm and from 5 pm to 6 pm (local time), with the final session on Saturday from 10.45 am to 11.15 am, followed by qualifying from 2.45 pm to 3.15 pm. The race will be held on Sunday at 2.10 pm (7.10 am CET) and will run for three hours.
